Where can I find page element definitions?

edited January 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I'm trying to modify a style and am having a heck of a time finding where or what all the page elements are defined as. Is there a screenshot anywhere that shows what each of the page elements is called in the css file? Thanks.

  • You're probably best off using Firefox and the web developer extension. Or Opera with the W3 dev menu. Both combinations would allow you to check elements and element properties on the fly while working on styles.
  • thanks bjrn.. your assistance is much appreciated. Really am loving Vanilla and will be launching my forum soon.
  • Even better, still using FireFox, install FireBug and use the "inspect" option, it's fantastic :)

The Firebug extension is much better - especially since it was updated a couple of days ago. I was in even more awe than I was before, which is saying something.
  • cool. will check that out. thanks!
  • Wow that was extremely amazing!!!! I had been learning css, and trying to style stuff by change style.css saving, then uploading, see what it changed. Repeat with this trial and error for days. Exit loop on ("find help thread about css "inspectors'")

BTW i think they call it "view stlye information" now instead of "inspect"
  • and the fire spreads a little further... ;-)
  • haha
