Question about converting...

I currently run a punbb forum, and I've search and found that the simplest way to convert to vanilla is punbb -> phpbb -> vanilla. Here's my question, how well does this work? I have a lot of threads on my forum and I want to make sure everything goes through okay. Threads, user's etc. Any help would be great.

    I have no experience on this, but I'm sure a few people on this board do. Give them time and I'm sure they'll surface ;)

    Perhaps when they do and we get a definitive process/list of what to do we could write it up proper and publish it to the FAQ?
