2 questions: session icons and account panel

i'm trying to make a theme and i'm having a couple problems: #1 ) how would i get a user icon to appear next to "Signed in as ..." ? i've tried "$this->Context->Session->User->DisplayIcon" in the CSS background-image tag, but it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I'm just making stuff up. #2 ) On the Accounts page, how would I get the Panel to move and be displayed under the User's Account information? Then could I nix the "Start Discussion"? Would I have to build a custom panel? I must confess, I don't understand the delegate system too well. any help would be awesome.
