bug? deleting first post in a thread

i noticed today that if i post a new thread, then use the 'delete' link actually in the comment to delete it (instead of the links on the left of the screen), the thread becomes a bit borked as it no longer has a title or author. i can't remember what the title gets set to, but the author becomes '0', i think.
