  • French Alps.
    I missed Schizo's map thread, I'll put me on also.
    My wife is from Moldova, previously in USSR and speaks Russian and Romanian.
    That's one reason why I'm so picky about i18n and utf-8, allowing the mixing of language on fora.

    @Adrian: lol

    @minisweeper.... unfortunately... yes. Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Upstate New York, socked with almost 8 feet of snow this week, may get as much as 4 more feet in the next three days as lake-effect snow continues to bury the region.

    Not really, depends what you call near. I'm 60km south of Grenoble (mountain road), that's around 3 hours driving to Chamonix.
  • Cleveland, OH

    suburb of youngstown, the home of the once great steel mills and now the home of thousands of hoodlums and the highschool graduation rate is 56%. Luckly my suburb is a nice place to be. we passed, as a group every section of the standardized tests, and a 98% graduation rate.
  • @y2kbg: It looks like you're midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I also used to travel to Pittsburgh for Conrail (and to Detroit, Buffalo, Boston, NYC).
  • @MySchizoBuddy: In Oz the mythical Santa still visits all the good kids in his reindeer sleigh with his full-on red suit, etc, and the real Santa in every major department store looks exactly the same - he'd die outside in the sun, but is OK in aircon. But the rest of the Xmas-summer holiday period is plain Oz - generally hot, crowds @ beaches, drought and water restrictions, bushfires, do things in the evening, beating the English in cricket (until recently!), etc. Two different worlds really, that shouldn't intersect, but somehow do. We could use 8 ft of snow, that's for sure.
