CSS for dummies

edited February 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi. Is there any documentation that tells us what css item in vanilla.css does what. it would be a great help for fine tweaking of custom styles. I've had a look about but not found anything yet.

Get the Web Developer add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/) for Firefox, then click on any object on your forum - and it'll tell you all about the currently selected element - name, position, font-size, ancestors etc etc

Thnks for this. oddly enough, Firefox on my mac would not download it, I had to use Safari. Doesn't bode well!.
  • Ha! Are you running Firefox v2.0?
  • Firebug is another extension that picks apart CSS information.

I have both Firebug and Web Developer working with Firefox 1.5.0.9.
  • I second Firebug - infinitely more useful than the web developer toolbar. It will tell you all sorts of cool things about the CSS including inheritance, and you can select specific nodes on the page and it will show you all the properties of them. It does some rather cool things with JavaScript as well. This one is absolutely essential as a web developer.
