Email Notification

edited February 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Is there an add-on to provide email notification when a topic is replied to?

  • Notify, although it seems to have some issues. So I'm not sure it can be called completely reliable.
  • What kind of issues are there?
  • This discussion sums it up. Sometimes the emails aren't sent. Cause: Unknown.
  • Hi, I also have some trouble with the notify extension which doesn't do anything in my vanilla and my users promised me an hanging party with feather and oil if I cant' resolve for them this issue...huhu. I first add the rss extension (fine one) to use for my own. And then I gave a look to your code : Isn't it possible to add the vanilla.class.commentManager.php a call to your Email class (Framework.Class.Email.php) to send a mail at least to the author? I'm not really programmer but webdevelopper for my own so I can try (I will if I have no answer but with a bad hack) to do it but it will be ugly : sure :-) I think that the best time to send a notice (or not, depending of a notice value in the account) is when the "update the database" is true but with so many if/else in it I'm still looking @ the right time. So could you help me for that?
