Do you actually save any bandwidth by hosting styles elsewhere?

  • You'd save the amount of bandwidth that your styles use each time they're downloaded to your users computers. But you'd also (possibly) add the lag of referring to a different host (though it may possibly speed things up, it depends). And chances are your styles are cached by most people by now so they probably dont get downloaded a great deal.
If you go onto your control panel and check out some of the stats on there you can probably work out how much bandwidth your style files are using...
  • Awesome, cheers Mini, seems like it's not really worth doing aside from the bonus that I could essentially host as many styles as I wanted without any problems, although only one or two would get used anyway :D

Seems like the increased bandwidth usesage is caused by actual increased users etc than it is just from the fact I moved the styles onto the same host! \o/ \o/
  • Keep up the good work I say!
  • *high five* :D
