New posts in RSS feeds?

Right now the RSS feed in my Vanilla forum only displays the title and excerpt of the first post in the discussion, sorted by last reply. So while the feed does update when users post to my forum, I can't see the text in my feed reader. Also I think that if users post multiple times in one discussion it doesn't register as a new post in my feed reader. Is there a way to set up an RSS feed of all new posts?

As you'll see from the following conversations, RSS needs a lot of work: http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/4201/addon-bug-rss2-atom-feeds-pagination/ http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/4934/is-rss-working-for-latest-version/ I'm a bit surprised that no one has been able to fix these issues. The RSS/Atom Add-ons seem to be an Achilles' Heel for Vanilla at the moment. RSS is a major feature that a lot of people use, and it really needs some help. Is anyone working on these issues? Whatever happened to that paid developer everyone was talking about?

Hi Brad, did you find solutions to your problems ?
  • i have the Crude RSS extension on my vanilla and the RSS feed works great. give it a try.
  • Just a bit of advertising: Feed Publisher (based on Crude RSS) publishes also ATOM feeds (optionnaly) and applies correctly the relevant formatter (+some other features).
  • Agreed. Having created CrudeRSS (based on the RSS2 Add-On) I can tell you that anyone using CrudeRSS should upgrade to FeedPublisher. Grahack's done an excellent job taking it to the next level.
