the problem with build in forum by host is that they are locked down. u cannot upgrade it and have to wait for the hosting company to upgrade it. Like Go daddy which took forever to upgrade to Wordpress 2.0
Its just better than I install it myself so i can have complete control over it

I think he's talking about a specialist vanilla host rather than a standard host who adds the vanilla packs to their install section - and if so, there have been a few discussions about this already thirstyg. I was considering setting it up post v1 release with Marks permission, however he wasnt too keen on the idea because he was planning to do something similar himself in an effort to make some money off the back of all his hard work over the last few years. Someone else came along and said they were gonna do it anyway but I dont know if anything ever came of it. I dunno how popular it would be but personally I'd check Marks current view on the situation before progressing...you dont have to by the rules of the licence but it's only considerate imo.

especially since I'd have the added benefit of immediate security updates!

And will pay a fair price, too -- not looking for cheap or free.

if vanilla is really too difficult to install that would mean that it is a peace of crap ;-)
