Custom Styles and Themes

edited March 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if I just don't understand the limitations of the system... I installed Mark's Custom Styles 2.0 extension (allows users to choose their own style) and I uploaded various styles as well as one or two other themes. However, when I set a default theme and allow the users to pick their styles, the styles are applied to the incorrect theme. Are they limited to the theme I set as default and can only change styles, even though those styles may not be appropriate for the theme? Are the styles they select not mapped to the correct theme automatically for them?

  • Yeah you'd need to make sure you were only offering styles suitable for the theme you're using. I dont think the styles 'know' which theme you're running or which theme theyre designed for so you cant expect them to be too intelligent in that respect. If you wanted users to be able to choose from different themes then this might work, but dont take my word for it. I'd strongly suggest just picking a theme and then offering a bunch of different matching styles.
  • Damn. I was hoping you weren't going to say that.
