DiscussionTags problem

Hi guys,
Today I installed discussion tags extention. I then went into settings and set admins to have ' Can add Tags to all User's discussion entries' permission.
Then, i added a few tag's to some old discussions and clicked save. It saved (or so it looked like it did).
On browsing a few other pages and returning I noticed they had not saved!
I tried then manually creating a new discussion and giving it a tag.. the discussion is created all fine but there is no tag set.
Also on the left sidepanel under: recent tags it has nothing. Even if you click view all tags.
Does anyone know what's up?
