Problems after Vanilla install

I am new to Vanilla. I just installed Vanilla 1.0.3 on my server and it installed fine. However, when I try to access the forum page at http://www.virtualpercussionforum.com/forum/ I get a page with warning messages. I don't know what is causing this and was wondering if anybody could offer some input, check out the page and let me know what you think. Thanks.

    you have a problem with your php session settings. Ask your provider how to fix it.

    Why did you install Vanilla 1.0.3 when the latest version is 1.1.2?
