Vanilla 1.1.2 - different problems on different servers +IE suxxx

edited April 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
as the server where my site resides is running php 4.1.2, I tried to launch the forum on a different server which has php 5.1.2, as I have trouble with membership approval: - I can't see the 'applicants' link on the left, - when I do a search, and try to change the role manually, I have blank screen (and the user is of course not notified) - From the user side (once the user is able to log in), the forum looks and works fine, except in IE, which doesn't display the utf characters, but crappy and unreadable sh*t... On the new server, I now see the applicants link on the left, and I'm able to approve membership, and so the notification email is also sent correctly But: - when trying to enable/disable addons, the new server always sends js error messages, the progress indicator icon doesn't change back to checkbox, but when doing a refresh, it seems that the change has been saved anyway... - the cookie domain is corrected (='') in conf/setting.php, which works for Opera/ Firefox, but with IE (nor 6 nor 7) I'm still unable to login. - and so I'm unable to decide if IE has the same display problems or not... Please, please, please someone tell me where and what to change to make the forum work on ANY of the servers (preferably on the first, to save me some time of migrating later :-D) Thank you
