  • yeah, it was bugging me too, so I spent half the night messing with the options and looking into stuff. This should hopefully clear up issues with textpattern and other apps running on your servers that share the same cookie.
  • Any news on this topic?
  • mark's got it fixed apparently for the next release, sit tight :D
  • Okellidokelli thanks for the info :)
  • Excellent!
  • Are releases still going to be fortnightly? I think Mark was trying to get them out that quickly. Anything to think otherwise?
  • I think this is going to be one of those "big-ass" fixes that makes or breaks it before the big 1.0 if I interpretted marks earlier comments this week correctly.
  • Does that answer my question? Forgive me, but I am not sure. Is that a yes, they will be release fortnightly, if all goes to plan? I am glad this issue is fixed though.
  • define what you mean by "fortnightly" if you mean one every other day/week, then no. But then again, im not one who an honestly answer that kind of question, that's marks dept.
  • well, fortnightly means (in Aus anyway) bi-monthly. every two weeks. I would no expect it to come out every second night. wow. poor mark. I also understand you are in no position to tell me for sure, but is it still planned this way? (I did find a thread, lost it now, where mark said he aimed for a release every two weeks. not major ones, just bug fixes.)
  • hehe, I wouldn't count on nor expect it as Vanilla for mark is a freetime project, obviously. I'll accept "when it's ready" as a proper release time. Although a schedule of every 2 weeks nailing down the big bugs wouldn't be too bad. Not that I'm asking for it, as long as it's not super-critical where it forces me to discontinue use of Vanilla, I don't mind how long it takes if i can enjoy what's already in there to mess with :)
  • I agree with you. If I need a problem fixed, I will ask mark for the change and do it myself. Most changes are explained (solved) here, so it is not hard and I often won't have a need to contact mark, or the problem solver directly.

The current codebase is very unstable. I've only had a few hours here and there to work on it, so it's pretty far from complete. I will definitely need to set up another version of vanilla for Q/A, and no - it won't be fortnightly. I don't have a timeframe in mind at the moment :/
  • thanks for clearing that up.

I wish it could be fortnightly. I just don't have that kind of time right now.
  • mark, would you accept patches if i were to start fixing some bugs?
  • MarkMark Vanilla Staff
Well, I actually have been tearing apart the application's configuration settings, so there's no way to patch right now without a complete overwrite. I've literally changed code in every file of vanilla right now.
  • yikes. extension writing it is, then. =)
  • see that's why you need subversion1!!!

I know - this discussion about subversion is going on in a bunch of different threads.

I'd set it up, but I don't have a clue how. Someone want to hold my hand through this one? Let's take this SVN discussion over here
