joomla!vanilla questions...please help.

I have the joomla!vanilla forum thing for my site. i have two questions... 1. when i click on manage vanilla option in the J!vanilla component config it tells me that "referenceerror: $ is not defined." I don't know what does means nor how to fix it. 2. i'm using the rhuk_solarflare_ii joomla template. how can i set it so that my vanilla forum will open without having to scroll left/right when users open certain discussion threads or options of vanilla forum in my main content window? 3. as admin, when i try to add categories to my vanilla forum, it tells me this, "Some problems were encountered There was a problem authenticating your post information." what do i do? it won't let me create the categories. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! tom
