BBcode and youtube

edited February 2009 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi guys, I am using the Forced BBcode extension for my board, is it possible to extend it somehow in order for it to accept the code for youtube videos? Or even make something like [youtube]some code here[/youtube].

Thanks in front.

Well I can make hyperlinks already, but I want to be able to embed a youtube video into a page through comments. Thanks anyway.

EDIT: OK, sorry, I have looked at that extension and I now see what you mean. I still think it is a little weird that you need to post a link to the video only so it can be embeded by vanilla later on. I guess this will have to do then...
  • because this way its independent of which formatter ur using.
It will work with u have installed.
  • Uhm, sorry if I'm posting in a wrong topic - the forum I'm visiting uses a youtube plugin [youtube]video.url[/youtube]. Now, is it possible to edit that plugin so it would ignore "&feature=related" on the end of the url to the page of the video, and just display the video? Most people that go there are code-challenged, so it would be ok if the plugin would ignore that part. If that option is included to the newer version of the plugin, and admins left the old one, sorry for bothering.
