Who's Online

edited October 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
introducing Who's Online version 1.0 by David Knowles

This extension will add a "Who's Online" Menu option to the control panel, allowing users to see when other users are signed in and active on the boards. Please note that this extension automatically updates the DateLastActive attribute for every hit to vanilla by a registered, logged-in user, so this could potentially degrade the performance of your server. This perfomance hit should be negligible for a reasonable number of users.

does it have to be phps or can it be php? what's the diff?

unless phps shows the php as straight code, in which case i look like an idiot right now. :)
  • cool. is there a demo somewhere?
  • and this extension is way cool.. thanks!

yes, phps is straight code, and you don't look like an idiot, just not properly informed. also, and i want to make this a little more real-time if i get a chance, it reports the time since last active as a title to the link. hover over the link to see it.

yeah, phps is short for "php source". which is short for "php: hypertext preprocessor source". which is short for...
  • thanks jsanders! how recently do users have to have been active to be listed?
  • ithcy: five minutes.
  • thanks :)
  • Great stuff, thanks.
