Hallo

With my phpbb forums I use the addon «similar topics» which is relly great. It lists the titles of the most similar discussions at the bottom of each discussion.

I couldn't find this addon for vanilla.

    I have looked into making such a thing. I believe I looked at the PHPBB code and a Wordpress related posts plugin also. What held me back is they both required the MySQL post table to be fulltext indexed... which really isin't a big deal for most people, but Mark posted reasons why he didin't make the table fulltext indexed... something about it being more trouble than its worth unless its a large forum that is heavily searched. The other thing holding me back is I had researched ways to do it without fulltext indexing, and wanted to play with these things called term document vectors... but sadly, no time to do so. Fast + easy + learn nothing = use MySQL fulltext indexing. Just about any coder could do this. Slow + hard + learn boatloads = Roll your own term comment array vector space. I would much rather to do this.
