Anyway to ignore posters? Or ban them from an area?

As above really, is there any extension that'll let you completely ignore other users, or maybe create a forum category and put people's usernames into a field so they can't view/reply there?

Comments

  • why don't you just create another role that doesn't have permissions to post/reply/view/whatever?

Hmm, this is kinda special circumstances, my friend posts on the forum I run but really dislikes one or two members so has decided to quit the forum 'til he can ignore them, heh :P
  • i've been having the same problem on my site lately. i'd be willing to make a paypal donation for anyone willing to write up an extension.
  • Couldn't you use the "block user" link on the comment? Or is that only for that discussion?
  • only for that discussion, and that only strips the HTML, it doesn't actually 'ignore' them ala phpBB or something similar
  • Technically, due to a bug in the core, 'block user' blocks only until any other user on the forum unblocks any other user.

The block misnomer only blocks HTML in the comment anyway--but I think there could be a way to block all comment content with a modification.
  • in the special case, probably easiest to give ur friends a special role that has extended access to categories that members do not
