Anybody want to invest $160000?

edited June 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I know this is not a correct place for this, but we are looking for investors for our project, and I thought I could mention it in the Lussumo community forum. My partners and have developed a project, which is a mixture of google and zillow for Kiev (capital of Ukraine). This huge site would cost total $160000 and would return the capital in about 2 years. It would generate a growing profit of about $40000 monthly and up. We have a detailed project description in Russian, and we can interprete it, if necessary.

What I ask here is, is there anybody who is willing to invest money in business in Ukraine? I understand that the probability is very small, but I decided to try. Also, if you know some websites that list companies willing to invest, could you please tell me? Or if you have anything to say on the subject, please share your views. Thanks

  • You're right, this seems to me like (as you already pointed out) not the right place for such an offer. If someone answer to it here, it'll seem like a proper place to make such a request, which will tamper with the scope of this community. I personally would ask you to redirect this kind of petition to the proper channel, which you'lll surely ffind elsewhere.
  • Con was interested in real estate--before he started failing the turing test.

And a search on the 'net seems to reveal that he (she?) may be in Kiev.

Afraid most of us here are probably peons who have enough trouble making ends meet--and can't even consider an international investment. Is there an equilavent to a venture capital firm there?
  • I'm not sure I understand why would it be worth mentioning a website that needs $160,000 to users that won't even pay for bulletin board software? Try http://www.sitepoint.com.
  • Yeah, this may not be the best place for this kind of discussion as the biggest donations you'll find come in the form of add-ons and updates. I would suggest maybe seeking investments & VC directly from your target market (I'm guessing it's realtors and housing developers?) while further securing the idea. Not sure you'll see much without some proof-of-concept though first to draw in the initial investments...
  • Thanks guys.. :) ... I knew this wasn't the right place...

@ mis-one, can you clarify what you meant and explain your point? or you just plagiarized because of the lack of imagination?

edit: what i meant is that you should learn more about ukraine and the money smart people make here.... how can you defend your point about "users that won't even pay for bulletin board software"?..
