deleting/sticking functions won't simply work

edited June 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
hi guys First I wanna say I am a completely layman of this kind of stuff, but I still had to build a forum and I chose Vanilla. At first everything seems to be great, I uploaded the whole folder, set the permission to 777 and 755 respectively (through ftp client, not command though) I set up the forum, named it, started a topic and so. but as soon as I logged in as administrator and tries to delete those test replies and topics which I posted 3 mins b4. It simply won't work. I clicked delete, clicked yes, then the whole page went back to the main "discussions" page where those topics are still there. I tried to use another admin account, and it turned me down again. I tried to stick the topic and it was the same problem. I went through the troubleshooting and FAQs sections, sadly I am not smart enough to find the suitable solution. could anyone tell me what my problems are? Thanks you guys so much ! (I am sorry if my english bothers you, because I am a chinese)

i've had this problem before. which theme are you using? i was using NamedVanilla previously and i think it wasn't compatible with vanilla 1.1.2. NamedVanilla2 works, but with some hiccups on the search page. try changing your theme to the default one.
  • it is using the defalt one ><
  • Is this all occuring on plain out-of-the-box Vanilla or do you also have add-ons loaded with this installation? Details would help here :)
  • it is plain out-of-the-box no add-on no style... using english, changed to chinese once but still the same thanks
  • What kind of server and what are the Apache / PHP / mySQL versions?
  • ar! i dont know but hey! I reinstall everything and it works now! thanks everyone
