Alas, I was warned that it was also a bare-bone thing. Nevertheless, I did install the vanilla forum. It is, indeed, bare-none!!! Not much to it. I hoped that at least I had the ability to write and save the messages as HTML files. <p> A truly great bare-bone facility provided such a feature: wwwboard.pl. <p> What a great feature that is! Look at my first message board with wwwboard.pl: <p> http://www.saliu.com/bbs/ <p> Unfortunately, vanilla does not come even close to wwwboard. I tried the message board with a test message in HTML format. NO HTML allowed, super crocodilule! Disappointing! Look how disappointing the message looks like: <p> http://forum.saliu.com/ <p> Do NOT attempt to register at this time. Chances are I must close the test vanilla forum. <p> Or, are there hidden features in vanilla that I can’t guess where they are? Or, are there add-ons that can do some decent things for me? <p> The addons should be a no-no. After the add-ons are created and tested, they must be incorporated in the core application as soon as they prove to work. I can see this message board littered with addons! It sucks big time! Incorporate as much as you can, super crocodilule of childish inclinations! <p> Hope you take it as men (and women, of course)! <p> Ion Saliu,<BR> Messenger At-Large <p> http://www.saliu.com/infodown.html<BR> Uniquely great free software in a wide range of fields. <p> Hold on! What the heck is going on? I can see here HMTL code, but not in my forum! Why the heck don’t you integrate better? You can have a great product… <P> </body> </html>

  • If it looks like spam, smells like spam, it's probably spam.

saliu, if this is a technical issue please construct it more in the form of an easy to understand question describing the problem rather than the above. Otherwise, congratulations. You've figured out how to insert empty paragraph tags.
  • Would it be appropriate for me to ban the second person of the week? Interestingly it would also be the second ban of the year. Or infact my entire time as an administrator. Well well. What do we think?
  • p.s: http://www.saliu.com/bbs/ - oh my god that's one of the worst websites i've ever seen. I dont suppose the same dude created myspace..?
  • Based on the sniff test, I smelled spam on the second sentence in. I see no reason to ban this one unless they prove to be difficult.

Perhaps moving this to the "random/testing" category would be more suitable.
  • hehe... this guy used more than just <p> tags... he tried the whole gambit around that: html head, title, body.

I'm actually suprised he didin't use font tags.
  • Well, a quick "block comment" only reveals paragraph tags here (didn't bother to view source) but yeah, there's probably more.
  • Should he be opening paragraph tags without closing them? Isnt that against teh rulez?
  • Who cares, this is just idiotic. Delete it :)
