(Sign In) link not working on Firefox

edited June 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I installed Vanilla on my home computer (localhost), and I noticed that when I clink on the (Sign In) link, on the top right corner, whatever page I happen to be in just reloads and nothing happens. I have to manually access http://localhost/vanilla/people.php instead.

When I'm already logged in, Sign Out works fine, though.

I tried it on IE and it works fine, so this only happens on my Firefox 2.0.0.4.

Any thoughts?

  • By the way, I have no extensions installed yet.
  • It's a problem with the cookie domain. Check http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/5814/sign-in-problems-with-vanilla-112/#Item_1

Yes I checked that but to my surprise my conf/settings.php were already like that. (Probably because I didn't enter a 'cookie domain' during installation).

But if this is really the case, how come with IE it works fine?

Depends which version of IE, but IE would most likely accept mulched cow patties and pretend they're cookies. But in reality, my guess is being placed on the fact that it does a little bit of error correction and since it can detect localhost it probably automagically fills that bit in by itself, which is slightly wrong if you think about it.
