Extensions

How come it is that extensions have so many files in them and they say just install default.php? Or am I supposed to upload all files except for the readme?

Comments

  • Each extension has whatever files are needed by it and each is different. That is up to whatever the programmer decides in his or her design. For example, GoogleMapDirectory has 7 files and a folder. CategoryIcons has 2 files and a folder. The one consistent file is the default.php file.

You really should upload the entire extension folder with it's contents.
  • Including the readme?
  • I would say yes. It is part of the complete package. Although you won't read it on the server.
  • where does it say just install default.php?
  • ithcy, I think that's when people just copy over the default readme copy without bothering to add anything to it.
