problem with installation

edited June 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi, when i try to install Vanilla 1.1.2 i get at Step 2 this Error: We came across some problems while setting up Vanilla... It appears as though you've already got Vanilla installed. If you are attempting to upgrade your existing installation of Vanilla, you should be using the upgrade script. Well, i guess there are already the mysql-tables in my database from a installation in the past. Maybe it helps when i change the table prefix? Thanks for help!

  • Yep, just rename the old prefixes. Otherwise, use the upgrade process if you want to use the old data on the new forum.
  • Sorry i forgot to mention i dont have any access to the mysql-tables (phpmysql...) at the moment.
  • It looks like you would then have to manually change the prefixes in the installer files... 'LUM_' appears twice in setup/installer.php and in every table definition inside setup/mysql.sql.

    You might have to edit conf/settings.php and add this line with the new prefix you choose once the installer is finished:$Configuration['DATABASE_TABLE_PREFIX'] = 'LUM_';
  • thanks, worked like a charm :)
