  • i think it's my fault - i'm testing the sight with IE and Firefox and I think each browser has it's own cookie location so when i switch between them i think they are cancelling each other out - or when i log into one, Vanilla invalidates the other
  • Mark, My group of friends just started using Vanilla after our server died and we didn't have the code saved for our homegrown forum. I have to say that I really like it. It is just about what I was going to try to make for our new code, so thanks, you saved me a lot of time. ; ) Anyway, I've been having the same complaints from my users that others have mentioned about not staying logged in. Do you encode their remote ip somehow into the cookie for verification purposes? This would be just about the only thing that would explain what we are seeing. Users whose IPs don't change, aren't complaining, while the users who have multiple proxies and the like, are having to login nearly every day or more often. If you do, is there a way that it could be an option (either administrative or user-based) that would allow one to decide whether or not to bind sessions to IPs? A check box on the login page or an option in the administrative settings that trumps the user's choice would be nice.
  • Vanilla is the same way running on my server. It might be my fault, but I believe it happens at two different locations.
  • I've been noticing it here as well, every X ammount of days I'll get logged out here vs the dev forum. Not sure what's causing it unless there's a cookie being shared somewhere forcing me to log out. It's just a bit odd.
  • Cant say i've had any problems.
  • Yeah, I don't know what it is, it's just very random.
