Notify slows down forum

I have noted that Notify slows down my forum when activated. Calls scriptacolous.js and slows down significantly the page rendering. Actually, the first time the site loads can delay about 12 to 14 seconds. I have tested with some other friends from different puters. Any fix, cause the Notify option is so very needed? thank you

    What was it slowing? Always helpful if you post your solutions, even if it's a silly mistake. This way people searching the forum can maybe be helped by your experience.

    do not really know what was slowing it down, i reinstalled noting down carefully the steps and its going ok now. I though it was the code calling scriptaculous.js, just a guess
