Friendlier category URLs

I have Friendly URLs turned on, and most of them look pretty nice, but I'd rather have a name than a number when referring to a category (for instance, I'd rather have /vanilla/some-category/ than /vanilla/6/). Is there an extension that does this, and if not, how would I go about changing this?

    That's a good idea - I don't know how to do it, but reckon it would be nice to have in addition to the numbers :) That way you have a human readable and a short URL option :)
