I thought sinking was strictly a user experience thing so everyone can sink their own discussions. It appears however that when one user sinks a discussion, everyone sees it as sinking. Is this how it is supposed to work or is this a malfunction. Please help. This would be much better to have as a userbase function, so every user can decide which discussions they are interested in. Please advise. Thanks!!!

If a user has permission to SINK then yes, it's a global function.

Only admins and moderators should have this permission I think.
