SEO title on first page, the rest as is with subject of page?

So I notice a ton of sites have a nice SEO title i.e. CNN.com: Breaking News, US News & Video News on their first page, but after that it becomes CNN.com -topic of page here how can we do that with vanilla? I have altered my title so it shows the SEO-friendly keywords on all pages but you cant seem to limit it just to the index...any ideas?

I'm trying to do the same thing. Right now it says "all discussions" for the homepage which needs to be changed. All the other pages are fine because it takes the post title. Anybody?
