CSS help? very weird display problem in IE7

edited September 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
this problem has just been reported to me, and it's got me stumped.

loading a PM message (private messages extension) brings up a screen with almost all the text invisible:

if you switch to another window and switch back, or drag over the text to highlight it, the text re-appears (usually only partially).

the background on the messages was originally green (clockwork green theme). i switched it over to white and the problem is still occuring.

can anyone suggest what is causing this? it has been reported by more than one person. i'm guessing it's some kind of style problem, but i really don't know... it didn't happen with the default theme.

Are you using the Low-Cal Vanilla extension?
The header of your pages say that it is gzip encoded, but the developper toolbar say that there is no compression. Maybe that's the problem Update: that must be a problem with my developer toobar, because the page is obviously compressed.
  • yes i am. maybe that's it.
  • i've turned off low-cal to see if that helps.
  • seems to be OK at the moment... low-cal is still off but there's no noticeable difference in speed i don't think. i'll monitor it and come back if it happens again.
