  • looks like textmate – they seem to have several windows open overlapping, so the project draw on the right is probably part of a second textmate window off-movie.
  • Yup, it's TextMate, I live in it!
  • I've been road testing BBEdit but find it a bit clunky. So it's TextMate vs Smultron right now. I like the tree browser in Textmate....
  • don't buy textmate right now.
Wait for Leopard to be released. Textmate develoeprs have promised some really awesome features in textmate.

I hate Smultron. its syntax coding is horrible. I spend an hr trying to figure out where the syntax error was in my php code. only to realize that the color coding was messed up and was showing as if I had made a syntax error, That's when I uninstalled Smultron :)
  • buy textmate immediately.

I keep discovering new little timesavers after a year of owning it.

I never knew escape would auto complete function names, including your own functions etc
  • NO not immediately.
After Leopard is released on Oct 26th wait 8 days
  • thats a whole 8 days though!

    boring! :P

so whats happening... is textmate 2 being released the same day or something?
  • they should release it. they have had lot of time to develop it.
PLus i think lot of new products and upgrades will be announced when leopard is launched.
Atleast from what I have read from Textmate/Delicious Library blog, the developers are overly excited, to the feature set in Leopard.
Remember textmate stopped making new features for Tiger once they got their hands on the developers version of Leopard. They love it so much that both textmate and delicious library developers have decided to drop support for tiger and no new features will be added to tiger release. Dunno if they have reverted that decision or not.

Ta for the pointers there. Didn't realise it had auto-completion, very nice! I'm using the Blackboard theme in TextPad today... it rocks :) Now I just need to find a way to recreate it in Flex Builder 2.... hmmm... don't think I can be arsed right now... (talking of auto-completion, it saves hours if you're writing Actionscript)
