@Mini: in the international preference pane, leftmost tab, you'll find a scrolling list of keyboard layout (most have colored flags) AND 3 utilities with grey icons, just check the keyboard viewer and you'll have it handy when looking for unusual characters. BTW, did you ever click once on the "Help" menu item ? ;-)
For any other app, even the Finder, I can replace it with an alternative and not use Apple's solution. But not the Dock. It always has to be somewhere, popping up when I least expect it, annoying me with bouncing icons. It's somehow tied to the desktop (last I checked), so brute removal kills other (unrelated) functions. Leopard only complicates the visualproblems. Not to mention there are bettersolutions out there.
I am looking forward to Leopard, but I don't have the feeling it will be the OS advance it could or should be. Apple is welcome to prove me wrong.
