For any other app, even the Finder, I can replace it with an alternative and not use Apple's solution. But not the Dock. It always has to be somewhere, popping up when I least expect it, annoying me with bouncing icons. It's somehow tied to the desktop (last I checked), so brute removal kills other (unrelated) functions. Leopard only complicates the visual problems. Not to mention there are better solutions out there.
I am looking forward to Leopard, but I don't have the feeling it will be the OS advance it could or should be. Apple is welcome to prove me wrong.
