Anonymous posts? maybe disabling users?

edited November 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hello,
I've been searching for a nice and very simple forum system for months and I finally found Vanilla. My visitors are very ignorant and I need the simplest forum, I mean.. even the registration process is a problem.
So I searched in the forums for a solution and I noticed that actually there's not a way to let anonymous users post and create discussions (ignoring the GuestPost add-on). I also tried to modify non-authenticated role via MySQL => didn't work.

But those discussion where a little old, so if there's a way... what I want to do is let anonymous users post discussions and comments. I will do whatever is necessary to do this, I mean, if disabling user registration or something like that is necessary, I don't care... Maybe I have to edit a people library file?

Thank you very much,
JAC

  • Mate, even if you could do this you would need a CAPTCHA system.
I tried opening up my forum to guests and got flooded by SPAM!
