Is there a max Image file size ?

edited August 2005 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
hey all, I got a few big pictures (above 100kb :P ) and the thumbnailer doesn't like them at all, in fact it refuses flat out to create thumbnails. Intentional? limitation of php thumbnailing? or...? I just get a blank page when I try to generate thumbnails for these pictures, or sometimes a "connection closed by remote server". I've had no problems with the other image files, and the only common thing I see is that the problematic ones are all 200-500k, while the ok ones are all 70k and less. Any insight appreciated :) thanks, patrix.

  • i dunno why its doing this and i have -1 minutes left on my pc, but i can say i've thumbnailed 2meg images before...
  • hmmm okay, could be some kind of limit in php.ini or something somewhere on my freebsd system that would limit that for some kind of obscure security purpose I'll look into it thankss!
  • ok here goes php_admin_value memory_limit 16M (or any other value like 8M or whatever woulda been enough). I noticed I didn't even have a php.ini setting memory limits so I assume it must've been low. didn't chekc phpinfo, but that line above in httpd.conf did the job. :D patrix
  • Good find, perhaps this needs adding to the readme/documentation or something.
