One member having trouble with BBCode

I've tried editing the posts for the user myself and the BBCode isn't working correctly.

He's doing everything fine. All the other members are able to use BBCode and Markdown. The account settings for the user have BBCode set as the default text formatter. Any ideas? If the user creates a new account is there any way to merge his old account?

    have you tried the enhanced BB code extension?

    Does the enhanced include smilies. That was one of the requests from members.

    I had thisa a while back, guessed the guy was nutz, but regardless of which formatter he used, it just spat out plain text with the formatting stuff all jumbled in.

    @ithcy: The member hasn't done anything wrong lol. I'm pretty sure he's entering everything correctly. When I go in and edit the post using BBCode it doesn't work when I submit the comment.

    Out of curiousity, does said member have a roll in which html is disabled ? If everyone else can post with bbcode and this one member cant, it's quite possible that it's due to the role having a restriction of no html allowed in posts.

    He has the same 'member' role as all the other members. I have no other recommendations for this guy. He keeps asking like I know what the deal is. As far as I can tell he's not doing anything wrong. Whenever he does his test posts they never show up right.

    Does he either have Text-Only mode on or something? or blocking himself? this sounds like a problem on his end if everything checks out and all your other users including yourself haven't had any problems. I'm placing my bets on possible user stupidity now, not to sound like a complete ass in that case, but it could be the fact at hand. If he can see all other HTML except his own, he's blocked himself. If he can't see any proper html, at all, then he's got Text-mode only in the On position.

    It looks like another member is having the BBCode issue. Even if text mode was on, wouldn't I still be able to go in and edit the post myself with BBCode and see the correct formatting from my screen. Or does the text only mode strip any sort of HTML from the original poster?
