Gmail Custom Time!

edited April 2008 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Introducing Gmail Custom Time https://mail.google.com/mail/help/customtime/index.html EDIT: This beggining of April, Google has announced a lot more than gmail custom time: Dajare (jp) Gday (au) http://www.google.com.au/intl/en/gday/index.html Google Dialect Translation (kr) Youtube RickRoll (eu) http://uk.youtube.com/ (click on any link on the main page) and, of course gmail custom time^

  • That Gday is really cool technology. I think I'll add a link on my web site tomorrow.

However, I wonder if the developers took into account the fact that searching on the internet is actually faster if your search goes from left to right? By this, I mean that electrons flow faster in the same direction in which the earth is rotating. For example, if I did a search from where I live on the east coast of the US towards England and the Greenwich Meridian, the rate of searching would be faster than if I searched in the other direction towards the west coast and Australia.

    What do you think?
  • hmm, interesting technology... Google continues to amaze me!
  • jimw surely it works faster the other way? if I send something from the uk to america the electrons barely have to move because the earth moves america towards them!!
  • jimw - minisweeper has a point; i had assumed you were correct in what way the earth turns i hadn't even thought about it.

did you guys also hear about the dialect translation google started doing in south korea?
  • I also like the customtime. That would help me out especially when my boss tells me that I never sent him an email.

Thanks for correcting me on the earth rotation direction.
