Can't change settings or add posts

When I try to change one of the settings or add a comment to my new forum, it says it can't authenticate the post data. I've re-uploaded everything, making sure it's transferring in ASCII and not binary. I appear to be properly registered as an administrator since it allows me to go into all the items on the settings menu. Just can't change anything or add new comments.

    Additional information--it appears to be trying to write session data, and can't find the directory it's looking for. From the error log: PHP Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_1775dc2c891d4147a541c40ebd3f2fb7, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)
