Block/Ignore single discussions

Hi there.

I'd like to give users the opportunity to block single discussions as well as whole categories.
And an option to list and unblock the blocked discussions as part from the profile-settings area would be king!

Is there any extension or workaround out there helping me to solve that issue?

Any suggestions?
