How can I allow anyone to comment and post?

I am starting a family website and want to remove the requirement of membership to post on it. I tried using the Guest Post add on, but it still blocks the post saying that I do not have permission. Is there a tweak I am missing on that add on, or is there another way to make commenting and posting open?

Check out the Guest Post. Be sure to read everything about it, it involves a "Guest User" to be created as well as some other things.
