Utterly Clueless

Hi, New here, apologies if this is bone or has been asked before: I am trying to create a small forum for my site www.ibstudio.co.uk, I've installled Vanilla to the server & begun the process of configuring, but I've got to the bit about SQL database & I'm lost. Do I need to build a database & upload it to my server? (Or get my daughter to do it!) If somebody could provide an idiots guide that would be great. Many thanks

    you need to have MySQL on your server.

    when you have it just create a new database and the user and password is what you have to introduce in the setup fields. but this is needed to install vanilla, so either you don't have it fully installed or I'm a bit confused.

    Thanks Miquel, found MySQL on my server & it was dead easy after that.
