parse error when fresh install

hi all, tried to install vanilla (PHP Version 4.4.9). after uploading all files, i get the following error message when trying to run vanilla installation: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in ... vanilla-1.1.5/library/Framework/Framework.Class.IntegrityChecker.php on line 74 after repeating the vanilla download/ server upload the same error appeared. can anybody help? thank you

    saw that somebody just started a thread with the same question a couple of hours ago ... checked the forum yesterday and there was nothing about it. anyway would be nice to have a solution, as it seems i'm not the only one facing this problem. thanks & sorry for the double topic
