So what's the latest with Vanilla?

I've been out of the loop for years!

But I have a forum I want to build (sneakergeeks.com) and hope to use Vanilla.

Is there anything new/exciting I should know about?

Specifically I will need a nice plugin to allow photo galleries for each user (with rating system and comments)... hmm...

  • Hi 3stripe,

I don't know for the feature you need; I don't think there is anything like that.

You should look at the themes; since last year we have been getting some nice themes and styles from sjeeps.
  • 3stripe, I don't know of any gallery extension that does what you want, but if you're feeling creative (or someone else) perhaps ZenPhoto could be bent to that kind of functionality?
  • It sure could, zenphoto is great, and a few days ago they released a huge bugfix release so it is a good time to use it.
  • There's phpWebGallery too. It could be nice to build a nice bridge between Vanilla and one of these galleries.
  • Thanks peeps.

Yeah, I like zenphoto a lot, good idea.

Oh snap, they've got commenting and rating now, perfect!

Just need a developer to do the integration now...
  • Actually I am doing something very similar (a project starting with wikimedia, zenphoto and vanilla as base code, ohmygoodness), but unfortunately I think I will just butcher all the codes and hard-integrate them instead of bridging.
  • Nooaaaaaaaaaah. Oh ok. Keep me posted.
