what is absolutely everything that I need to have my own vanilla forums?

I don't even have a website, but I'm interested in having my own forums. Please tell me everything that I need, I can buy a domain and set up a website with a host, but what else? Must I download and install a database or other software. Backspace?

    Have you downloaded and read any of the documentation yet? Its pretty clear on what the requirements are
