Private Messages - Error if send message

I have installed the addon Private Messages and followed the installation instructions. If i want to send a message i get an error: Some problems were encountered You must select a category for this discussion. It exists a categorie where all roles ar deselected. And this categorie is selected for the private messages. How can I solve this problem?

    Do any files have to be "writable" to get this extension to work?

    i use User Messages 0.1.5
    it works.

    im using vanilla 1.1.10 and have the same issues - however if you make the private message category visible it all works fine - but defeats the purpose. it appears that the extension cant see the category itself if its invisible to the user ?
