I am new to Vanilla, and wanted to know 1) Is there is forum setting or or other way if which I can get notified (via email) if someone posts a comment to a discussion. 2) Also, if I mark the forum private, will the discussions still show up in a Google search. Thanks, Aloke

    check out the following addons: Notifi and Notify
    They might solve your problem.

    2)
    If you are not able to get to the information then Google wont either ;)
    Of course, you have to check that while you are logged out.
