Installed successfully- Can't Log In??

I am new to Vanilla. I have successfully installed Vanilla (permissions for conf folder are read and write); however, I am unable to login. When I enter my username and password, I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." Also, when I click on the "Apply for Membership" link I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." However, I noticed that the URL is automatically changing from http:// to https://. When I delete the "s" and just have http://www.example.com/forum/people.php?PostBackAction=ApplyForm, the Application Form shows up. However, if I fill it out and submit, I again get the "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage." I ran the testsession.php test and it says that my cookies and php session are fine. I am new to web design and I'm not very familiar with all of the code, so help in fairly simple terms would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Where is hosted your forum? Can I try to login Can I visit it?

    If you can do without IIS 7 try to get a linux hosting (you get better support for most php application) or better, try to host it somewhere else far godaddy.

    However, I couldn't not access your forum, I could load a page once and the cookies settings seems fine. I need to load it more than once to check that session is ok. maybe testsession.php missed something.

    Ok thanks.... Who would you recommend I use for hosting? I have already built everything using Windows and I would prefer to stick with Windows unless it is absolutely necessary to switch to Linux. Thank you very much for your help.

    im having this same problem. after logging in the URL will look like this http://://alohafixed.com/forum/ which inturn gives me an error but if i navigate back to http://www.alohafixed.com/forum im logged in. it's the first error that's really annouying. any fix via .php edit for this?

    wanted to add: the URL problem doesn't occur though when i have "remember me" check box checked.
