FSCKeditor deleting newlines (breaks) on edit

It seems that when I go to edit a post that has multiple paragraphs that it simply merges them all into one huge paragraph. It does not seem to want to keep the breaks. Any idea what might be causing this? I can't seem to find anything in these forums about it.
