Adding to the Sidebar...

edited May 2009 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi all, Trying to customize my Vanilla install. Part of what I want to do is add some stuff from quotemedia.com to it. As you can see at http://quotemedia.com/content_solutions/quotes_charts/ , there is all sorts of stuff I can add using their software. The big question: where the heck is the file I need to edit to change the contents of the sidebar? I've searched high and low for it... can't put my finger on it. Your help is appreciated!

  • I'd like to know how to do this too, as I want to add a link to a chat program in another folder on my server. (The chat extensions don't work well for me at all). Help please - anyone?
  • Just found Custom Sidebar at http://lussumo.com/addons/index.php?PostBackAction=AddOn&AddOnID=422 Hopefully that'll do the trick.

You can use the nuggets extension to do this, it's very flexible
  • @Raize; I tried Nuggets, and while it appeared to work ok when 'cooking a nugget', I couldn't access the nugget - it just didn't show once I'd set it up. Also, it did nothing to the site pages either. ??

That means you don't know how to use the nugget extension. Read the documentation and try again...I have a feeling you forgot to assign your nugget a weight.
  • @Raize; Yeah, I thought I'd messed up too. However, I assigned a weight, did everything the docs said, it all showed on screen ok, etc., but when I added the nugget it just jumped back to the create nugget screen. No list of existing nuggets. Tried with a frozen one, and unfrozen one - same result.
